STAAD.Pro is the workhorse of structural analysis, and that is exactly the problem: it absorbs enormous amounts of senior engineer time on modelling work that does not need a senior engineer. RIH Engineering provides outsourced STAAD Pro structural design as a dedicated backend team. We build the model, run the analysis, design the members and produce the calculation report. Your engineers review and approve.

What you get

  • Complete STAAD.Pro models with documented geometry, supports, releases and load cases
  • Structural analysis using the analysis type the project requires: static, P-Delta, response spectrum or time history
  • Wind load analysis in STAAD Pro built to the governing code and site parameters
  • Steel and concrete member design with utilisation ratios and governing-check callouts
  • Truss design, transmission tower design and lattice structure analysis
  • Full calculation reports with model assumptions, load derivation and results summary
  • The native STAAD file handed over, so you own the model and can interrogate it yourself
  • Model verification notes covering stability, mass participation and support reactions

What we handle for you

Most of the time spent in STAAD.Pro is not engineering judgement. It is geometry entry, load application, load combination generation, running iterations and chasing down errors in the model. On a moderately complex structure that is 25 to 60 hours before results are even trustworthy.

We absorb that. You provide the layout, the loading brief and the code basis. We return a verified model, the analysis results, the member design and a calculation report your reviewing engineer can sign off against. You also get the native STAAD file, so nothing is locked inside our office.

The cost of doing this in-house

A senior structural engineer on 15 to 30 hours a week of STAAD.Pro modelling is a senior engineer not reviewing designs, not talking to clients and not winning work. Across a year that is 750 to 1,500 hours of high-rate time spent on model entry.

And the capacity ceiling bites hardest at the worst moment. When three projects need analysis in the same fortnight, the modelling queue is what makes you miss dates. Miss dates twice with the same client and the next package goes to the consultancy that did not. The revenue you lose there is not the modelling cost, it is the account.

Why RIH Engineering is safe to try

Send us one structure. We return the STAAD model, the analysis and the design calculations, with the native file included so you can verify every assumption yourself. If the model does not match your expectations, we correct it. If it still does not, you stop at one.

Named engineers are assigned to your account under our dedicated resource model. They learn how you like models built: your naming, your load case numbering, your report format. Over a few projects they stop needing to be told. That is the point of a dedicated team rather than a per-task vendor.

Our process

  1. You send the structural layout, loading brief, material grades, support conditions and the governing code basis
  2. We issue a short modelling brief back to you confirming geometry interpretation, load cases and combinations, for your approval
  3. STAAD.Pro model built: geometry, properties, supports, releases and specifications
  4. Loads applied and combinations generated to the agreed code, with a load derivation sheet you can check independently
  5. Analysis run and the model verified for stability, support reactions, mass participation and obvious error flags
  6. Member design completed with utilisation ratios and the governing check identified for each critical member
  7. Calculation report compiled covering assumptions, load derivation, analysis output and design summary
  8. Model file, report and any required drawings issued for your review

Tools and standards

We work in STAAD.Pro across steel, concrete and composite structures, including wind load analysis in STAAD Pro, response spectrum and time history analysis, truss design and transmission tower design. Where a project is better served in ETABS we will say so rather than force the tool.

Design codes supported include ACI 318-19, AISC 360, BS EN (Eurocode 2 and 3), BS 8110 and IS 456. For UAE work we build to the Dubai Building Code basis, which uses ACI 318-19 for concrete and ASCE 7-16 for wind and seismic loading, and to ADIBC for Abu Dhabi projects.

Client-preferred tools: Our team can be trained to use the tool preferred by the client. If your workflow depends on a specific platform, template or drafting standard, we adapt to it rather than force you into ours.
